FPV Game?

Hello from Kyiv!

I accidentally came across a video about Playdate and was impressed by the simplicity and elegance of the hardware solution. When I saw the games you all are making, my jaw dropped. :) I was completely charmed by the developer community. It's probably the nicest and best developer community I've ever seen. So, I decided to order a Playdate for myself. 

I have never made games. I've never drawn pixel art, especially 1-bit. The power in my house goes out every 4 hours. But I can't tear myself away from developing. I do my best in writing code and inventing gameplay, and my wife helps me with the graphics.

In my country, every home is familiar with drones. Every house has a remote control, and everyone has thousands of hours of flight time on simulators. Even my mom understands the difference between TBS Crossfire and ELRS. That's why I chose this game setting. :)

Basically, you have to avoid obstacles (currently, there are only cruise missiles) and manage battery charge. If the battery gets low enough (currently, this is < 50%), it will become significantly harder for the drone to fly, and eventually, it will fall to the ground. Your goal is to reach the designated enemy. I also plan to add other levels where air defense systems try to shoot you down, and static city obstacles prevent smooth flying. It's quite possible I will add other types of remote-controlled devices (cars, a drone that drops supplies with a top-down view). I also have thoughts of porting the game to PICO-8 for RC control screens running OpenTX/EdgeTX. But I'm not very confident in that. :)

For now, it's just a concept. I definitely won't be placing the game in a store or charging any fee (although my wife wants to charge me $3 per sprite!). I'm not even sure the game will find its player. But.. i am here =)

P.S

I am aware of all the current issues: simple and not very engaging gameplay, the quality of some sprites, and other nuances. I will strive to fix them, but it will take more time than I would like.
